A few months before I published my first novel, a dear lady came up and told me that her granddaughter was greatly enjoying my first poetry book. She said that every time her granddaughter came over, she’d ask where the book was, and then sit down and read it. I was overjoyed to hear that, and so I gave this lady my 2nd poetry book to give to her granddaughter. Not even a week later, I received a precious letter from this ten-year-old girl, who asked if I’d be her friend. How can you say no to that? :) Since then, Anna and I have been exchanging letters and gifts (since we live over seven hours away from each other) and are enjoying brief visits from time to time. Anna has the sweetest personality and loved A Higher Ransom! And of course, she and I think it’s pretty neat that she shares the same name as the main character! Anna is a loyal friend, and great pen pal. I think it’s pretty neat to have a friend with the same name of the character in my story! I’m blessed to be able to call Anna my friend!
